Brigitte Tansini

Brigitte Tansini was a French ceramic artist whose work, developed notably in the 1970s, is distinguished by stoneware sculptures with organic, architectural forms. Inspired by nature and its mineral forces, she created a restrained yet powerful visual language in which the purity of line interacts with the density of the material. She also taught for ten years at the École des Beaux-Arts in Compiègne, and holds a singular place in the landscape of French ceramics in the second half of the twentieth century.
