Charles Eames
1907 — 1978
American architect and designer Charles Eames was a key figure of 20th-century modern design. Together with Ray Eames, he formed one of the most influential design partnerships of the modern era. Based in Los Angeles, they pioneered innovative uses of industrial materials such as molded plywood, fiberglass, and aluminum.
Edited by Herman Miller in the United States and Vitra in Europe, their iconic designs — including the Lounge Chair(1956) — embody a humanistic vision of design, combining functionality, comfort, and timeless elegance.
