Carla Venosta

1926 — 2019

Carla Venosta is an Italian decorator and designer from Lombardy. She trained in both England and Italy. While in London, she met the decorator David Hicks, who helped her design her apartment. Upon returning to Italy with her husband in 1975, she opened a design and creative studio. Without significant support, she began translating ideas into everyday objects, including industrial and computer-related designs.

Gradually, Carla Venosta gained recognition in Italy and abroad. Her work quickly attracted attention, earning her numerous awards, including the prestigious Compasso d’Oro, which she received twice (1974 and 1980). She then collaborated with leading companies in the furniture sector. Recognized internationally, she has participated in numerous exhibitions and has delivered several conferences worldwide.
