Marie-Claude De Fouquieres
1937 —
Marie-Claude de Fouquières (born 1937) is a French artist and designer active in the late 1960s and 1970s. She developed a distinctive body of work using polyester resin, creating sculptural furniture and objects characterized by deep, luminous, almost cosmic visual effects achieved through chemical reactions and successive polishing processes.
Her first piece, produced in 1969, marked the beginning of a practice soon recognized and presented by Galerie Laclochein Paris. Tables, lamps, and consoles reflect an approach in which material becomes light and sculpture as much as function, positioning her work within the post-war French design avant-garde.
