Michel Buffet

Michel Buffet is a French designer. He began his career creating furniture and lighting for the home, presenting his work at the Milan Triennale (1954), SAM (1957), and the International Exhibitions in Brussels (1958) and Osaka (1970).

He designed about twenty lighting models, mainly produced by Luminalite and Robert Mathieu. His most famous piece is a tubular floor lamp with two arms on a tripod base (Robert Mathieu edition, 1953).

Later, he collaborated with the Compagnie d’Esthétique Industrielle (CEI), founded by Raymond Loewy, working on major projects such as Shell service stations, Dassault Falcon planes, the Concorde for Air France, the Caracas metro, and the RER commuter trains in Île-de-France.
