Roger Lecal
1932 —
French designer — Pop & Space Age pioneer
Born in Paris, Roger Lecal trained in graphic arts at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs. After early work in advertising, he founded his own design studio in 1958.
Active throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Lecal developed a bold, sculptural and highly graphic approach to furniture and home objects. His most emblematic works include the Lipstick Mirror edited by Chabrières & Cie—now part of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs collection—and the Jet Star Lounge Chair, defined by floating geometry and playful precision.
