Sandro Petti

1927 — 2022

Sandro Petti (1927–2022) was an Italian architect and designer born in Rome. Active mainly during the 1960s and 1970s, he developed a sophisticated formal language characterized by the use of materials such as polished brass, plexiglass, lucite, and glass, which became signatures of many of his creations.

He notably collaborated with the Roman workshop Angolometallarte as well as with Maison Jansen, designing tables, mirrors, and lighting pieces distinguished by their sculptural, elegant, and theatrical lines.

Emblematic  of the 1970s, his work reflects an approach in which architecture, design, and decorative arts converge, resulting in pieces that are both luxurious, graphic, and highly decorative.
