Roger Comparet

Roger Comparet was a French designer active during the 1950s and 1960s, known for his contributions to modern lighting design. He collaborated with Disderot, a key French lighting manufacturer that played a significant role in shaping post-war design aesthetics. One of Comparet’s most iconic works is the “Lampe 1025,” designed around 1965. This minimalist table lamp, made from folded aluminum, exemplifies the era’s sleek and functional design ethos. Today, the lamp is highly sought after by collectors. Comparet’s work has also been featured in exhibitions such as “Disderot Lighting: Innovation in French Lighting 1955–1965,” highlighting his lasting impact on 20th-century French design history.
