Philippe Cheverny
Philippe Cheverny, born in 1936 in Rouen, is a French designer and artist known for his bold creations in industrial design and interior decoration, particularly during the 1960s and 1970s. He became renowned for his unique approach that combines industrial materials such as plexiglass, brass, altuglas, and resin with luxurious decorative elements. His works stand out for their sculptural forms and gilded elements, creating a sophisticated and modern atmosphere. Some of his most famous creations include the "Arbre" table lamp, made of curved plexiglass tubes, and the "Cristaux" light sculpture, which diffuses light through altuglas blocks. He also designed decorative sculptures like the "Cheval," a work in gilt bronze and steel on a marble base, in a Brutalist style. Some of his creations were produced in collaboration with companies such as Charpentier and Design Kit.
