For the 18th edition of PAD London, we were delighted to present, from October 13–18 at Berkeley Square, in the heart of Mayfair. A must-attend event on the international design scene, PAD London is London’s premier fair dedicated to historical and contemporary design.

We invited visitors to discover our booth, B23, where iconic pieces of postwar French design were also on display.

Best Historical Design Prize for Kronen Sofa by Flemming Agger, circa 1967 

We were pleased that Flemming Agger’s exceptional Kronen sofa was awarded the Best Historical Design Prize.

Created in 1967, the Kronen (Crown) sofa was first presented to the public at the Scandinavian Furniture Fair in Copenhagen. A sculptural and experimental piece, it was composed of four fibreglass modules covered in foam and upholstered in fabric, supported by polished metal tubing.

The design won a furniture competition organised by the Copenhagen School of Applied Arts in 1967 and was subsequently selected for production by N.A. Jørgensen in Bramming, Denmark, under the Bramin name. However, it was never mass-produced. Today, only two examples are known to exist, making it a rare and remarkable piece of Danish avant-garde design.
