PAD Paris 27th edition

April 2 — 6, 2025
Jardin des Tuilleries

Meubles et Lumières had the great pleasure of taking part in the 27th edition of PAD Paris, held from April 2 to 6, 2025 in the Jardin des Tuileries.

This year, we proudly paid tribute to two pioneering women of French design: Colette Gueden, celebrated for her poetic and modern aesthetic, and Maria Pergay, a trailblazer of the 1970s known for her bold use of industrial materials and sculptural forms.

We are deeply honored to have received the Best Historical Design Award, presented by the PAD Paris 2025 jury. The award recognizes a rare and iconic piece: Maria Pergays canopy bed, originally designed in 1971 for Empress Farah Pahlavi’s bedroom during the celebrations of the 2500th anniversary of the Persian Empire in Persepolis.

Crafted in chrome-plated metal and crowned with a striking canopy of intersecting X-shaped beams, the bed stood in a lavish interior designed by Maison Jansen. It masterfully combines sculptural modernity with imperial elegance.

The piece we presented was commissioned directly from Maria Pergay in 1973 by a private collector. It perfectly embodies her avant-garde vision, at the crossroads of luxury, innovation, and form.

We warmly thank everyone who visited us during the fair. It was a true pleasure to share our passion for exceptional historical design. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you would like further information.
