History:

The Coquille chairs by Roger Tallon, part of the Module 400 series and edited by Galerie Jacques Lacloche, are among the most radical creations of French design in the 1960s. Conceived around a polished aluminium structure combined with Spazmolla foam, they reflect Tallon’s deeply industrial approach, in which furniture was understood as a modular, technical and evolving system.

Through their enveloping silhouette and experimental construction, the Coquille chairs move beyond the simple function of seating to become true architectural objects. Their edition by Galerie Jacques Lacloche, an important figure of the Parisian avant-garde, underlines the exceptional character of this series, at the crossroads of industrial design, formal research and a modern art of living.
Extremely rare on the market, these chairs stand as a testament to the experimental boldness of French design in the 1960s and to Roger Tallon’s singular place in the history of avant-garde furniture.
