History:

In his youth, Roger Tallon had a fervent passion for motorcycles. When Derny, a subsidiary of Fenwick where he already worked, entrusted him with designing a new range of motorcycles, he opted for a radically different approach from existing models.

The Taon represents one of Roger Tallon's iconic early projects. Seeking to inject new energy into the recently acquired Derny Motors, Robert Fenwick enlisted Tallon to create a revolutionary 125cc motorcycle. Unveiled at the Montlhéry circuit on September 25, 1956, the Taon – a name derived from the contraction of "Tallon" – stood out for its striking and innovative visual identity. Every detail of the design was meticulously considered, from mass distribution to rider position, promoting a distinctly sporty driving experience: a horizontal two-stroke engine, combined with a unit comprising a fuel tank and headlamp, gave the Taon a striking aerodynamic profile.

Featuring well-thought-out features, the Taon was equipped with leg side protections, enhancing rider comfort, while zippered side saddlebags completed its ensemble. With its sleek fairing, compactness, and lightness (75 kilograms), the Taon offered a top speed of up to 90 kilometers per hour, ensuring exceptional stability thanks to the use of automotive-derived shock absorbers. The model we present to you today is the T4 "Luxe," more sophisticated with all these options (turn signals, leather cheeks, and windshield). A luxury model with all these options and accessories has never been seen before. Motorcycle fully serviced and ready to hit the roads.

The Taon came in several colorful versions (yellow, red, blue, etc.), as well as a chromed model, symbolizing luxury and exclusivity. A model that was only manufactured in 200 units, making it a rarity today.
