History:

Created by Jean-Pierre Vitrac circa 1972 and edited by Verre Lumière, the Éventail lamp, model 10481, perfectly illustrates the inventive and poetic approach of French lighting design in the 1970s. Made of chromed metal and opaline glass, it unfolds like a luminous fan, transforming a table lamp into a mobile, graphic and sculptural object.

Through its opening and closing mechanism, the piece plays with light as much as with form: once opened, it creates a spectacular, almost architectural presence, while its opaline glass diffuser softens the brilliance of the metal. Rare on the market, this model reflects the experimental spirit of Verre Lumière, a major editor of modern French lighting, and Vitrac’s ability to turn light into a true object of design.
