SOGNOT Louis
Louis Sognot work in 1920 in the Primavera workshop of which he become director after René Guilleré. He presence is always close to his patner Charlotte Alix at all major exhibitions : salon des artistes decorateurs ( SAD ) from 1925 to 1937 and exhibition from the Union des Artistes Modernes ( UAM ) which he was one of the founders. He won the first rattan award at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs in 1952.
He participates with Jacques Dumond and Renou in the development of the French pavillon at the international exhibition in 1958.
He is professor in the Ecole Boulle and at the Arts Décoratifs before World War 2 and become workshop chief at the Arts Décoratifs school in 1947. He will realizes in many countries hundreds of private projects in using various materials such as steel, glass or rattan. His work is characterized by a certain sobriety and simplicity combined with a perfect sense of proportions.
