RAIMBAULT - SAERENS Danièle
France, ( 1936 - )
Danièle Raimbault Saerens was born in 1936 in Haudoubin in the north of France. She studied in Paris, obtaining her diploma in drawing and became a drawing teacher. She took an interest in drawing and painting which she has practiced since 1958. In 1962 she started to work textiles and is self taught. Her work, volontarily countercurrent, is characterized by the search for new techniques and unlike many other tapestry designers, she weaves her own works. In 1965 she is welcomed to the group « Tapisserie de notre temps » (Tapestry of our time). She exposed her works in Germany, the United States, Sweden and Belgium. Danièle Raimbault Saerens particularly created monumental pieces, some such pieces for the Cannes airport, BNP agencies in Marseille, Cannes, Nice and Lyon and several projects for La Defense in Paris. Some of these pieces are still in place. She also created large scale mosaics for various architectural projects.
