PAULIN Pierre

Pierre Paulin is a french furniture creator. His ambition is to be a sculptor but he had a serious accident and reviews is ambition. Paulin is moving toward design and studied at the Centre d’Art et Techniques ( école Camondo ). He attend the courses of Maxime Old. He met Pierre Guariche and Michel mortier during this time. The discover of the creations of Charles and Ray Eames is a revelation in his designer career. His first editors: galerie Mai and Meubles TV helped ensure his recognition. He alsocooperates with other greats editors like Thonet or Artifort. The technological progress of this time allowed him to play all the audacities.

In 1960 he established his own agency. It is from theses years that his style moves to more organic shapes. He creates complete interiors adapted to the new lifestyle of the 60’s. From 1968 Pierre Paulin creates for the Mobilier National. This collaboration will be crowned by the 1971 command for the Elysée Palace by the president Georges Pompidou.
