PERGAY Maria

Maria Pergay is a creator originally from Moldova born in 1930. 10 years after her arrival in Paris, she registers at the Institution des Hautes Etudes Cinématographiques (IHEC) and frequents the Ossip Zadkine workshop.

Maria Pergay creations fluctuate between bygone glories and contemporaries radiance. From het first large stylized birds from the decoration of the Claude Tabet shop, Pergay’s creations evolve into more powerful forms, more sensual curves. In 1957 she designs candlesticks for Hennessy cognacs of which follows a silverware collection. His love for the metal is born. The Jansen company passes order and Pierre Cardin, the famous futuristic couturier repurchase the entire collection.

In 1960, Maria Pergay opens his own shop place des Vosges in Paris. She is already recognized as a creator with extreme sensivity proposing unique solutions. His refined creations allow her to work with wealthy clients.
