MORTIER Michel

Michel Mortier is a french designer (1925 - 2015)

Michel Mortier is a graduate of ENSAAi n 1944. He works with the decorator Etienne Henri Martin. In 1949 he become agency manager for Marcel Gascoin and met there Pierre Guariche and Joseph André Motte. 
In 1954 founded with Joseph André Motte and Pierre Guariche the Atelier de Recherche Plastique (ARP) that continued until 1957. From 1950 he designed several lighting models for the edition house Disderot and later for Verre Lumière in the 70's. In 1970 he become artistic director for the Mobilier National, he is also a teacher ( école Boulle, ENSAD, Camondo, Penninghen...) and journalist (Möcle interior design, La maison française... )
