MOHY Yves
After graduating the Beaux Arts school in Paris, architecture section, he continues his studies at the Ecole des Métiers d’Art in Paris, ceramic section.
Yves Mohy (1928 - 2004) moves to La Borne, renowned for his ceramist, in 1955. He works stoneware, which becomes his favorite material. Then he turned to highly sculptural pieces. He will use other materials than ceramic like wood, cast iron, stone, slate.. His pieces are characterized by a very constructed look, architectural, which brings to mind his formation.
Yves Mohy will relocate several times in France; in 1975 in Bourges and after professor at the Beaux Arts in Limoges in 1993. He is one of the important representatives of the stoneware ceramic from La Borne
