BINY Jacques
Jacques Biny is a creator from the 50’s. After graduating from the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, he left Paris to Valence and design his first lights simultaneously with several interior design projects. In 1953, he start his lights edition house : Luminalite. The conception of his loghtings is caracterised by the use of new materials like the metal or the perspex. Luminalite notably edit some models by Jean Boris Lacroix or Michel Buffet.
Jacques Biny is recognized by its peers from the 1950 for his modern and precursor works. He exhibits regularly at the Salon des artistes décorateurs (SAD) or at Salon des arts ménagers (SAM). In 1960, he turns him into the study of the lighting for the communities.
Jacques Biny lightings are made to become part of new fonctionnal interiors in response to questions lighting of the modern homes. Biny sets the tone of a radical aesthetic where the sobriety of the lines comes firts.
